The Go To Places team was pleased to be involved in the first City Nation Place UK conference which took place on 14 May 2019 and billed as the forum for strategic place branding and marketing.

Deputy Chief Executive, David Curtis-Brignell, contributed a thought piece for the event’s delegate guide titled “Funding cuts don’t necessarily mean the death of DMO’s”, click here to view a PDF of the article and here for the delegate brochure.

Go To Places’ digital guru, Jim Dawson, presented his vision around “Digital skills to drive tourism” as part of the afternoon’s workshop programme. He shared the thinking behind and value of the content strategy currently being delivered for Visit Kent and Visit Herts.

A key takeaway from the conference was the necessity for stakeholders, DMOs and partners to work collaboratively, in order to deliver effective place making and place story telling. A sentiment that proves Go To Places’ investment and focus on this approach is absolutely justified.
